FAQs

Welcome!

Q.  Why is EI2 developing myGThealth.com?

A.  There is a health care crisis in the United States as a result of chronic conditions such as hypertension, respiratory diseases & heart disease.  Chronic conditions are primarily a result of unhealthy behavior, but yet we continue to reactively treat the illness vs. proactively addressing the behavior.  Employer groups (and by extension employees) are suffering increased health care costs and reduced productivity.

  • The biggest driver of medical costs is an unhealthy lifestyle and/or behavior.
  • According to the World Health Organization most chronic conditions are a result of an unhealthy lifestyle.
  • People with chronic conditions account for 84 percent of all health care spending.
  • Modest reductions in unhealthy behaviors could prevent or delay 40 million cases of chronic illness per year.

EI2 saw an opportunity to develop an offering that begins to address these issues and can be deployed within EI2, across Georgia Tech and to EI2 clients.

Q.  What information do I need to complete my Health Assessment?

A.  At the very basic level, you will need to know your blood pressure, weight, height, waist measurement, blood type, triglycerides and LDL/HDL.  If you don’t already have this information, you can sign up for a health screening through your personal physician.

Q.  Why do I need to do a Health Assessment?

A.  Your Health Assessment is the perfect snapshot of your current overall health.  The Health Assessment takes about 10 minutes to complete and all of your information is confidential.  When completed, you will receive suggestions for improving your health, including: Plan for Wellness, health status and feedback, and goal tracking and measurement.  It is recommended that you perform a health assessment on a regular basis, at least once a year, in order to track health trends.
